A young man with a dream.. Heritage Hotel Liberan is fulfilling a long-standing dream, carefully and lovingly planned and finally realized with infinite patience. Srđan Kurtić, a locally born and bred young man from Podgora on the Makarska Rivijera, was determined to restore his grandfather’s old stone house, which had collapsed during the 1962 earthquake. The stone from the ruins was saved and taken to Island Brač for cutting and returned to form the house’s exterior facade, which was built in the same dimensions as the original. Another larger building was constructed in a traditional style combined with stone decorations. Both houses offer luxurious accommodation in 13 spacious rooms and the restaurant offers a spectacular view from the terrace.

Meeting young chef Križan Luštica from Zadar, was a breath of fresh air. As we were chatting, a departing guest wished to shake his hand and thank him for the delicious cuisine he and his wife had enjoyed during their stay…The compliments were met with a wide smile of satisfaction! The hotel prides itself on having its own ecological garden and a rich variety of vegetables. Breakfast on the terrace with free-range eggs, warm bagels, and freshly squeezed juices. In the evening, try tender steaks and chops from the local farm, or delicious fresh fish from the Adriatic Sea.
During the week we’ll venture out on day trips, sailing to the nearby islands of Brač, Hvar, and Korčula…explore the old villages, and have options to enjoy a cooking class with Chef Križen, visit the Skywalk high above Makarska, walk a scenic walking trail, immersing ourselves in nature, good healthy food and local vintages of quality.
