Today with the very hospitable Tanja Kezić and my friends Daniela Rogulj and Tash Peričić we prepared Dalmatian cuisine with a modern twist. Sourcing local products only, including Ivan Gligora’s cheeses from Island Pag, fresh figs and prosciutto drizzled with honey, baked ‘skuta’ cheese tarts, a delicious prawn ‘buzera’ dish, and for dessert dried figs slowly simmered in prošek dessert wine served with fresh cream, all so light and sensational.
Dalmatian cuisine with a difference!
Tanja always welcomes her guests to her rooftop kitchen in Split with a glass of bubbly and a warm smile and today was no exception. We felt right at home as we chopped, cut, sliced, stirred and prepared our delicious lunch. The kitchen was a-buzz with girl talk, and stories of both success and utter flops from the past brought smiles and a sense of relief to hear we’ve all had our good and not so good results in the kitchen.
It’s always fun to take part in a class learning something new!
